Overview

Job Summary

Responsible in assisting the Director of Maintenance Control and Support in the running of the day-to-day activities for Maintenance Control and ensuring Operational Control for all maintenance operations. This role will serve as the lead level authority when making system operation decisions in the absence of the Director. The Maintenance Control and Support Lead will provide direction to Maintenance Control Specialists and roving AMTS as needed. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to the Field Base (including Contract Maintenance), Heavy Maintenance personnel and detail maintenance required actions to repair aircraft discrepancies.
  • Monitor OOS aircraft and schedule return to service date/times and follow up as required to reduce out of service delays.
  • Work directly with other maintenance departments to identify ways to mitigate unscheduled aircraft downtime and improve aircraft reliability and to provide the best possible product to the customer.
  • Monitor the daily conference call with Materials, Field bases, Engineering, etc., for status update of the OOS aircraft, as required.
  • Monitor the MEL(s) across the fleet. Ensures material requests, tool requests have been completed to reduce aircraft OOS delays. Monitor maintenance actions to determine proper and timely corrective action. Notify field bases of upcoming MEL/ NEF requirements that are expiring.
  • Audit return to service aircraft paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Ensure timely, airworthy aircraft for return to service. Provide assistance to the Maintenance Controllers, as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to Ferry Flights.
  • Monitor the Maintenance Control department schedule. Assist with teammate timecards. 
  • Actively participate in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and is familiar with the SMS policies, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) in Aviation Maintenance or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and seven (7) or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred.
  • Five (5) years maintenance control and support experience required.
  • Five (5) years of maintenance experience on aircraft preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent project management skills. Ability to independently plan, coordinate, and execute documentation projects.
  • Excellent research, writing editing and communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend technical and regulatory documents.
  • Working knowledge of applicable FAR and associated regulatory guidance material.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • Experience with technical documentation/single source authoring tools, such as Adobe FrameMaker preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate required.
  • A&P License in good standing required.

USD $85,600.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $107,000.00/Yr.
