Overview

Job Summary 

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Fuel Systems Manager oversees fuel operations across all BHH locations. This role ensures fuel system safety, compliance, and efficiency, manages equipment maintenance and fuel procurement, and supports regulatory adherence. The manager collaborates with internal teams, leads training initiatives, and provides operational updates to leadership, contributing to overall fleet readiness and safety.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Provides oversight of fueling operations at all BHH locations.
  • Orders and scheduling of fuel purchases.
  • Works with the Quality department to maintain quality control of fuel systems to include fuel quality inspections and vendor audits.
  • Maintains fueling equipment to include permits, calibrations, tank tests, DOT inspections, registration renewal, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
  • Schedule internal and external services for filter changes and other routine maintenance for all bases
  • Troubleshoot complex fuel system issues, including leaks, contamination, and sensor malfunctions.
  • Manage the recruitment, onboarding, and training of aircraft fueling staff.
  • Coordinate training programs and track training records for fuel system safety, hazmat handling, fire prevention, and emergency response.
  • Provide weekly updates to the DOM.
  • Collaborate with base managers and Maintenance Managers to align fuel system operations with fleet needs.
  • Be able to perform aircraft fueling as required.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Job Requirements

  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Position is based on at any of the BHH maintenance locations but will travel frequently to all islands.
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling < 30%

Subject to applicable laws and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.  All employees must follow Blue Hawaiian Helicopters employment practices and policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but will lead, guide and have indirect supervision of all BHH Aircraft Fuelers.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of experience in an aviation environment, with a focus on fuel systems inspection, repair, and compliance
  • Hands-on experience with Airbus EC130 or similar rotorcraft fuel systems preferred
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, EPA fuel handling standards, and hazmat protocols
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role preferred
  • Experience managing fuel system programs across multiple bases or facilities
  • Knowledge of fuel quality control, storage tank maintenance, and fuel farm operations
  • Safety Management Systems (SMS) Training
  • Experience with SMS (Safety Management Systems) and compliance audits
  • FAA Fuel Safety Training

  • Flexible and analytical thinking with outstanding organizational skills required.
  • Sound judgment and objectivity in decision making is essential.

Computer Skills

  • Advanced with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Advanced RAMCO Software knowledge and experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid CDL License with Hazmat Endorsement

Work Location:

  • Position is based on at any of the BHH maintenance locations but will travel frequently to all islands.

USD $67,347.50/Yr.
