Job Summary
The Senior Vice President, Field Operations is responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic oversight across multiple regions to drive operational excellence, financial performance, and enterprise alignment. This role is accountable for translating corporate strategy into actionable regional plans, ensuring seamless execution of key initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional partners. As a member of the senior executive team, the Senior Vice President, Field Operations will partner with the company’s executive leadership team, external advisors, and teammates at all levels of the organization. This role will be responsible for leading and directing a more process-oriented, market-facing culture throughout the company by partnering effectively with leaders and teams throughout the organization.

• Develop and translate functional or divisional strategy into actionable plan
• Lead segment of department or smaller function in the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of related processes
• Plan, coordinate and evaluate complex departmental and intradepartmental projects or programs for implementation across large department or function
• Establish policies appropriate for the function, interpret and recommend modifications to company-wide policies and practices
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Lead enterprise-wide operational strategy in alignment with corporate goals, ensuring regional execution supports national objectives.
• Drive innovation and transformation initiatives across Field Operations, identifying opportunities for operational efficiency, scalability, and modernization.
• Serve as a key advisor to the executive leadership team, contributing to long-term strategic planning and organizational growth.
• Lead quarterly business reviews with executive leadership, presenting performance insights, risks, and strategic initiatives.
• Oversee enterprise risk mitigation strategies, including business continuity planning and crisis response protocols.
Enterprise Accountability & Metrics
• Own enterprise-level KPIs for operational readiness, safety, customer satisfaction, and financial performance across all regions.
• Lead quarterly business reviews with executive leadership, presenting performance insights, risks, and strategic initiatives.
• Oversee enterprise risk mitigation strategies, including business continuity planning and crisis response protocols.
Team Leadership and Talent Development
• Responsible for overall talent management, development and succession planning for the region. Regularly evaluate talent and address low performing teammates, including termination of low performers. Effectively mentor, coach, and model appropriate leadership behavior
• Build and cultivate a strong culture of teammate engagement at all levels within the region
• Direct and mentor Field Operation Teammates, holding them accountable to the delivery of services to ensure high levels of quality and business practices which meet and strive to exceed established standards of operations
• Champion a culture of excellence and accountability, driving engagement and performance across all levels of Field Operations.
• Sponsor leadership development programs to build a strong pipeline of future leaders within the Field Operations function.
Cross Functional Collaboration and Operational Improvement
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Centers or Excellence (COE) peers in Clinical, Maintenance, Safety, Aviation, and Business Development to drive safety, quality and training.
• Establish and lead cross-regional task forces to address systemic challenges and promote best practices across all regions.
• Partner with Finance, HR, and Legal to ensure operational decisions are fiscally sound, legally compliant, and aligned with workforce strategy.
• Maintain strong customer relationships, protocols and standards as well as service level targets
• Collaborate on the regional transport volume plan, addressing same base transport volume
Safety and Compliance
• Ensure optimal safety practices, full regulatory compliance, maximum fleet availability and operational readiness.
• Represent Field Operations in enterprise-level governance forums, ensuring alignment with compliance, risk management, and corporate policy.
• Ensure plans are in place and executed in the event of a significant negative event
• Other duties as assigned
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, available 24/7 for operational requirements
• Percentage of time spent traveling up to 50% or more depending on business needs
Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises teammates in the Field Operations and Planning and Scheduling departments. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business from four-year college or university; and fifteen years management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current knowledge of general aviation and clinical regulations that pertain to the Company’s business activities and geographical areas of responsibility.
• Master’s degree in business (MBA) preferred.
• Extensive experience in medical transportation services preferred.
