Overview

Job Summary

This position assists the Avionics Manager in maintaining aircraft avionics and electronic systems.

The classification of this position is broad and assigned specific functional areas; duties and assignments may overlap depending on the operational needs of the department.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Inspect, test, adjust and repair avionics equipment, including, radio, navigation, autopilot,  compass and instrument systems
  • Transponder and pitot static system certifications in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Install and maintain avionics and electrical equipment.
  • Fabricate and install air-conditioning wiring harness and electrical master control boxes.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair aircraft intercom systems.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair audio/video recording systems.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical and electronics systems.
  • Assist aircraft mechanics with assigned tasks as required.
  • Repairman duties as delineated in company’s FAA approved Inspection Procedure Manual.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Job Requirements

  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling - 20%

Subject to applicable laws and Blue Hawaiian Helicopters policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.  All employees must follow Blue Hawaiian Helicopters employment practices and policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.          

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience. 
  • Manufacturer’s and company training on Eurocopter/Turbomeca AS350B2 and EC130B4 a plus.

Skills

  • Dependable and self-motivated.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude.
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently

Computer Skills

  • Intermediate with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate preferred.

Minimum pay

USD $49,450.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $71,575.00/Yr.
