Overview

Job Summary

The Ascend Clinical Educator is responsible for creating and collaborating in all aspects of Ascend’s online and in-person education.  This position involves managing and coordinating multiple educational curricula and content, as well as overseeing the development and supervision of all recurrent education training and classes for employee clinicians/customers, aimed at maintaining essential competencies.  The Ascend Clinical Educator will coordinate activities to achieve and maintain accreditation, assist with maintaining and improving clinical quality, compliance, accreditation, and successful re-accreditation. Performs as a clinical expert.  Directly reports to the Ascend Clinical Education Manager.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • In collaboration with the Clinical Education management team, establish the vision and goals and oversees the work plans for Ascend’s in-person and online learning programs. Support the development of strategic offerings/initiatives, related policies and procedures, and program promotion; ensure compliance with accreditation agencies and any/all other regulations.
  • Experience creating online and in-person courses using e-learning authoring tools and learning and content management systems
  • Proactively identify priorities and resources and anticipate vulnerabilities in the scheduling and production of in-person and online curriculum
  • Plan and oversee the implementation of Ascend’s customer-facing learning programs, using best practices in our online and in-person programs and all other academic initiatives to help support student interest, success, and completion.  
  • Research and implement new instructional strategies to remain competitive in education delivery; research emerging technologies and their application to the classroom.
  • Manage annual curriculum calendar and proactively schedule and assign educational content to internal and external customers
  • Schedule and manage presenting clinicians of educational content, organizing scripts, PPTs, schedules, etc.
  • Plan, operate, promote, and evaluate a schedule of interactive video classes and video services. Work with applicable clinicians, educators, departments, and staff to select, market, and support courses and services.
  • Plan and implement Ascend’s online and in-person educational programs, processes and operations. Assist with coordinating the scheduling, training, development, and support of production resources. Coordinate production activities with external agencies providing production services.
  • Assist with producing high-quality video, multimedia, and graphic materials to support the delivery of instruction and services. Collaborate with staff, clinicians, and educators to plan, script, and deliver instructional and aesthetically sound media productions.
  • Participate in developing and administrating applicable policies, strategic plans, goals, and programmatic activities pertaining to learning programs offered by Ascend.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Regular scheduled attendance
  • Travel to training centers assist in ongoing recurrency training or Ascend training sessions – 50%

Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.  All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.    

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three (3) years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Project management experience with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines amid a range of competing demands  
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers, internal staff, and clinical education volunteers
  • Clinical background in emergency and/or critical care environments.
  • Experience in the healthcare environment.
  • Experience with clinical education content creation, preferred
  • Website management experience is preferred

USD $75,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $95,000.00/Yr.
