Overview

Job Summary

Reviews process and procedures to ensure company compliance with internal policies, procedures, manuals, and standards, as well as external regulatory requirements to identify potential gaps and\or opportunities to improve organizational policies, procedures, and processes as an integral part of the Safety Management System.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform assigned evaluations of processes and procedures to ensure company conformance with internal manuals and standards and compliance with external regulatory requirements to identify potential gaps and\or opportunities to improve organizational policies, procedures, and processes

  • Work with and provide guidance to senior management and regional management teams on external regulatory requirements, noncompliance findings, nonconformance findings and opportunities to improve organizational policies, procedures, and processes

15%

  • Perform and\or assign risk-based evaluation to ensure risk controls are in process, implemented, and effective.  Perform and\or assign follow-up evaluations to ensure corrective actions are in process, implemented, and effective

  • Perform statistical analysis, and submit reports of IEP activities, nonconformance, noncompliance, and opportunities for improvement to various individuals/entities including the Corporate Safety Committee (CSC) and Director, IEP

  • Evaluate existing audits and quality control measures to ensure company conformance with internal manuals and standards and compliance with external regulatory requirements to identify potential gaps and\or opportunities to improve departmental process and procedures

  • Assist stakeholders during Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) planning in a collaborative effort when addressing findings associated with IEP evaluations

  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  In accordance with applicable laws, Air Methods will provide reasonable accommodations that do not create an undue burden so disabled employees may perform the essential functions of the position.

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three to five years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in an Aviation related field preferred
  • Three to five years’ related experience with a Part 135 or Part 121 operator
  • Previous air ambulance operational experience
  • 2+ years’ previous IEP or QA experience preferred
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Safety Management System experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and Guidance Documentation, Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, and DOT drug and alcohol regulations preferred

Skills 

  • Demonstrates high critical thinking and reasoning skills and strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment that requires ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) with a high degree of collaboration with all members of staff as well as external clients/customers
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to operate autonomously and productively without continuous supervision
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of FARs and CFRs preferred

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with the entire Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Familiar with virtual interface mediums (Zoom, MS Teams, Citrix) with established work-from-home connectivity

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current or previous FAA Certification (i.e., Pilot, Airframe, Powerplant, Dispatcher) preferred
  • Quality assurance, healthcare compliance, and/or audit certification preferred

 

 

Minimum pay

USD $71,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $81,000.00/Yr.
