Overview

Job Summary

The Verification Supervisor is responsible to oversee and assist the Verifications team to ensure compliance with processes. Provide training and tools needed to work productively, accurately and within compliance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators and individual teammate performance and behavior; Supervise, coach, discipline and take necessary action to facilitate achievement of performance targets as well as alignment with company policies
  • Continually review department processes to determine ways to increase productivity and identify process opportunity trends and recommend ways to improve efficiencies
  • Interact with internal teammates, corporate customers, and/or clients to ensure high levels of responsiveness in order to complete billing processes
  • Organize and develop teammate schedules; Review timecards to ensure accuracy
  • Investigate reports involving communication break-down or lack of cooperation to provide routine, necessary information
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to address areas of opportunity based on identified trends to improve efficiency of the process used in performing tasks; Develop strategies for meeting department objectives
  • Complete required QA spot checks per week and provide feedback to staff; Collaborate with the QA Department to identify training needs
  • Collaborate with Management and Training & Development to determine appropriate instructional methods and formulate teaching outline, checklist and manuals
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and regulations related to patient account service activities
  • Complete assigned adjustments              
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Job Requirements

  • Regular scheduled attendance.             
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling - 5%

Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.  All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Verification department.  Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.  For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five to eight years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; preferred
  • 3-5 years leadership/supervisory and training experience; preferred
  • Billing and Collections experience; required
  • Knowledge of all Government, Commercial, and Private payers; required
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding HIPAA, collections, filing insurance claims, and filing for reimbursement from federal health care programs; required
  • Knowledge of medical and billing terminology; required

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Advanced customer service and phone skills
  • Strong ability to manage several projects concurrently
  • Ability to analyze and/or organize complex information with broad direction, identifies trends and collaborate with various levels of management to develop schedules, procedures, and systems

Computer Skills

  • Advanced with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification and Training; preferred

USD $50,625.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay

USD $75,900.00/Yr.
