Overview

Job Summary

The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management will serve as a key operational and strategic partner to the Chief Revenue Officer. This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's revenue cycle processes including insurance verification, coding, billing and collections.  The position requires a combination of data-driven management, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to execute initiatives that directly impact revenue growth, denial and bad debt reduction, and cash collections. The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management works hand in hand with the Chief Revenue Officer and will be responsible for organizational transformation, strategic development and change management throughout all processes.  Additionally, technology enhancements, implementations and clinical alignment to achieve goals and objectives will be a key objective of this position.

This role will implement strategies to integrate and align functions across the PBS and CHS organization to achieve revenue targets, reduce payor leakage and increase staff efficiency and productivity. This role additionally establishes KPIs and productivity standards across all departments and teams to monitor progress and measure performance towards strategic goals. The Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management also establishes targets, policies, and internal processes to achieve efficiencies in revenue generation and leakage reduction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Work directly with the CRO to develop, implement, and track revenue cycle management strategies.
  • Lead operational alignment between PBS, CHS, and external teams.
  • Analyze cash performance metrics; identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build, maintain, and enforce processes that support predictable, scalable revenue cycle management.
  • Develop reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility into revenue cycle drivers and risks.
  • Coordinate with Finance on budgeting and revenue projections.
  • Identify systemic issues that limit business performance and develop improvements and actionable solutions.
  • Participate in customer and prospect meetings when necessary to support strategic initiatives.
  • Manage select revenue cycle team functions or teams, depending on organizational structure and growth stage.
  • Other duties as required.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Regular scheduled attendance in hybrid office environment of 3-days on-site.
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling < 20%.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the Quality Assurance and Training departments and other teams as assigned.  Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.  For Exempt Managers:  Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university and 15 or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in finance
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
