Job Summary
Responsible for supporting the business by delivering high-quality strategic, tactical, and safety data analysis. Performs analysis around more complicated strategic, tactical, and operational questions to help with predictive analytics regarding operational risk and investigative analysis post-event or report. The analysis of data involves highly complex business and operational modeling. Collaborates with Safety staff, Certificate Team, and COE leaders/members to explore root cause, develop models, publish reports, and understand issues. Communicates the findings, implements the results, and develops reporting processes to ensure sustainability. Familiar with a broad spectrum of analytical techniques and interest in implementing useful analytics to provide the best risk management outcomes. Data and safety reporting required as associated with complex, strategic work streams. Collaborates with other data analysts in the company to include Power BI team, Operations Analytics, and C.I. team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
- Analyze complex safety reports problems using data from SMS software solution and external sources
- Develop safety dashboards and reports in support of risk modeling, trend analysis, and KPIs
- Provide support to leaders to drive performance and execute to SMS and regulatory commitments
- Preparation of detailed analysis of various SMS analytic results
- Develop decision support tools for use by Operations, Customer Experience, and Sales
- Assist business leaders to solve complex hazard mitigation and risk management problems/simulations
- Understanding of core business and partner with functional counterparts and leads to drive operational performance metrics as well as root causes relative to available data
- Partner with COE teams as safety data analyst leader for program and project initiatives
- Obtain and maintain data analysis subject matter expertise while educating and training others on accepted company standard techniques and tools
- Support data governance and safety assurance initiatives
- Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Safety, Operations, Management, Data Sciences, or Analytical field from four-year college or university and 5-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Flight experience as FAA-rated pilot or navigator required
- Safety management training and/or education preferred

Computer Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficient at data manipulation and modeling tools (SQL)
- Experienced at Advanced Analytics Platforms (Python, R)
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data modeling tools
- Experience with machine learning and operation research or optimization techniques
- Experience with statistical modeling and forecasting
- Cloud based analytics a plus (Azure, AWS)
