Overview

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Technician I is responsible for performing AP functions to facilitate the overall efficiency of the Finance Department in the area of Accounts Payable. Ensure all bills are paid in an efficient and timely manner and provide administrative and clerical support by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, monitoring expenses and assure company policies are followed in processing invoices. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Process invoices coming to AP through the mail, email or electronically through the system.
  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle from receipt of invoices to payment; including coding invoices, matching purchase orders, obtaining approval, and entering the invoices into the accounting system.
  • Maintain and update vendor information, including contact details and payment terms
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any billing issues or discrepancies
  • Research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning invoices, account status and including communicating the resolution.
  • Assist in weekly check disbursement preview
  • Prepare journal entries and accrual entries at month end
  • Assist in month-end close process
  • Other Duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience of heavy volume purchase order processing
  • An understanding of the vendor life cycle and the three-way match process
  • Intermediate math skills

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel (Pivot Table experience required), PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Solomon, Microsoft Dynamics SL or Great Plains accounting software application experience preferred.

USD $20.50/Hr.
