Patient Transfer Coordinator

Location: 4010 S 148th Street, Omaha, NE. | Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts (Night Shift Starts at 5 PM) | Hourly Rate: $18-$20/hr  

You will be eligible for shift incentives based on the specific shift and hours worked. These incentives are designed to reward employees for working during certain shifts and may vary depending on the time of day. Please note that eligibility and amounts for shifts incentives are subject to change based on company policy and operational needs.

About the Role

As a Patient Transfer Coordinator, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring patients receive the urgent care they need by coordinating seamless transportation between medical facilities. You’ll be at the heart of our operations, serving as the communication bridge between hospitals, physicians, and our air and ground transport teams.

 

What You’ll Do

• Manage patient transfers from intake to completion, ensuring smooth and timely coordination.

• Act as the primary liaison between referring and receiving healthcare facilities, ensuring all necessary details are accurately communicated.

• Facilitate air and ground transportation requests, expediting urgent cases efficiently.

• Maintain real-time documentation of all communications and logistics in our system.

• Provide top-notch customer service, representing Air Methods and our partner hospitals with professionalism and care.

• Stay calm under pressure, handling emergent and non-emergent situations with accuracy and speed.

What You Bring

 

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 2–5 years of experience in customer service, preferably in healthcare, emergency response, or a fast-paced coordination role.

• Experience with medical terminology and hospital processes is a plus!

 

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Comfort using multi-line phone systems and digital documentation tools.

• Ability to remain professional and composed in high-stress situations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
